Many Mount Pilgrim young ladies are a part of The Daughters of Naomi, an independent group dedicated to teaching valuable life lessons and coping skills to young girls ages 9-18. Although this program is not a ministry of Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church, its founder, Annette Yancy, started this project at the church in 2006. It currently operates out of the Camphor Memorial United Methodist Church just south of Mount Pilgrim.

From the Director ...
April is Leap testing time again. Please be advised that March 14 will focus on Academic Excellence. LEAP test preparation in English for fourth and eighth graders will be emphasized by Mrs. Shirley Hammond (fourth grade) and Mrs. Helen Cannon (eighth grade). Dr. Saundra Yancy McGuire will give a presentation on how to get rid of “test taking anxiety”, give students some excellent study strategies, and offer tips on increasing overall academic performance. On March 21 we will journey to New Orleans to visit the Zoo and the Aquarium.
Character Development is the featured emphasis for the month of April. Ms. Jean Stepter will lead us in a series of devotions. The theme is Relaxing in God, Reading God’s Word and Releasing God’s Promise.
