A Request For Help
I am sorry for the short notice, but we are having mentor training this Saturday, September 18, 2010. We will meet at the First United Methodist Church, 930 North Blvd, at 11 a.m. I look forward to seeing you there!

James A. Windom, Program Coordinator
Communities Committed to Reentry
Cell: 225 571-5672, Office: 225 448-2383 Ext. 213

Special Note from Kathy Michael:
If God leads you to this ministry, it's just one hour a week on Saturday mornings. Volunteers are assigned a mentoree. It's a federal program, so we can't bring up religious issues unless the residents open that door. We'll meet at EBR Parish prison every week.

The objective is to mentor individuals as they near their release and for a short period afterward. We help them make plans for housing, jobs and life upon release to prevent recidivism. Ladies mentor ladies, men mentor men. We follow them for a year. The program helps with resources. We need volunteers -- we need YOU: please come to this training. Thanks, and may God bless your service.
